Your username
Your username is your unique identifier for your Robinhood account.
You can find your username on your profile in the app or on web classic within your Robinhood Account (person icon).
No, you must use your email address to log in.
Go to Account (person icon) → in the app, select Edit profile (or on web classic, select Profile → Edit profile), where you can then create or change your username.
Choose a username that’s unique to you. Make sure to follow our App Use Standards and Security best practices. Never include sensitive personal information in your username, such as your social security number, primary Robinhood email address, or bank account number. Keeping sensitive personal information out of your username helps us protect you and your Robinhood account.
Your username must be between 3 and 20 characters long, and can only include letters, numbers, and underscores. It also must be unique to you. If someone else already has that username, you’ll be prompted to create another one.
Note that inappropriate or profane terms aren’t permitted. You also can’t use a username to pretend to be associated with Robinhood or another company. In rare cases, our system may block full or partial names.
Check out our App Use Standards for more details. If you experience issues when creating a username that follows our guidelines, try again with different characters or abbreviations.
You can control your profile’s visibility and who sees your username. Check out your profile visibility settings for options and steps to adjust your profile’s settings.
People with a Robinhood spending account who can use Pay & Request can search for your profile. This will be the default setting unless you opt out. No one outside of the Robinhood app will be able to see your profile information. Review Robinhood’s Privacy Policy for more information.
