Why do the crypto mid price and order price differ?
The price shown on the crypto’s detail page within the app and web classic is the mid price, which is the midpoint of the bid and ask prices. When you’re buying a coin using a market order, your order may execute at the ask price, which can be higher than the mid price.
When you’re selling a coin using a market order, your order may execute at the bid price, which can be lower than the mid price.
Crypto prices are volatile. To help protect your market orders against dramatic price moves, we adjust market orders to limit orders collared up to 1% for buy orders, and 5% for sell orders. Review Buying and selling Crypto for additional information.
Any price difference you may see between the estimated ask or bid price and the execution price is due to market movement.
